Virgie Brusky, 83, Pulaski, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family Monday evening, Jan. 4, 2016, at a Green Bay hospital following a short illness. The daughter of Anton and Julia (Murdzek) Brzeczkowski was born on Dec. 29, 1932, in Sobieski. On Sept. 8, 1951, she married Raymond Brusky at Assumption B.V.M. Church in Pulaski.
LaVerne Charles “Vern” Birkholz, 81, of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016.
Vern was born in Black Creek on April 19, 1934, to the late Roman and Gladys (Plantert) Birkholz. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country until he was honorably discharged.
Timothy J. Loberg, 64, of Clintonville, passed away Monday evening, Jan. 4, 2016, at Pine Manor Healthcare Center, Embarrass.

Ruth Marie Lucille Malitz, 95, of Clintonville, formerly of Bowler, passed away on Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, in Neenah. Born on Aug. 26, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John and Clara (Kriewaldt) Stuebs.
On Sept. 28, 1938, Ruth was united in marriage to Donald Malitz. He preceded her in death on Sept. 23, 1979.
Peggie I. Zuhse, 87, of Clintonville, was called home by her Lord Saturday evening, Jan. 2, 2016, while under hospice care at her home.

Police logged 30 incidents, including the following:
Truancy — Police logged four truancy complaints from the Shawano School District.
Arrest — An 18-year-old man was arrested for a violation at the Probation and Parole offices, 1340 E.
The snow arrived at the Navarino Wildlife Area last week with around a foot of snow falling on the grounds, and nature center staff and volunteers have started grooming the cross-country ski trails.
Snowshoes and ski rental are available at the nature center during regular hours: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
The sledding hill also is ready.
