Wimberger bank robbery bill advances

The state Senate on Jan. 16 passed Sen. Eric Wimberger’s bill that would fix a law that let a Green Bay bank robber off the hook after robbing a bank. “During an incident last year, a bank robbery suspect entered a Green Bay bank and presented to a teller a handwritten note demanding money,” Wimberger said.
New voting method proposed in Wisconsin Legislature
When Alaska ran its elections in 2022, it used a totally new system to vote. Voters had much more choice than the two candidates they usually get, and experts said the nastiness that has become so common in modern politics was much diminished. “Do you wish your elections were more civil?” Chanda Meek, a political science professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, asked The Badger Project.
LETTER: Anonymous letter writers are cowards
To the editor: I received my third anonymous cowardly letter in the mail a couple of weeks ago. What makes this one different is instead of addressing just me, the coward also asked that my freedom of speech be stopped and that the Oconto County Times Herald be denied their freedom of the press, asking them to stop printing my letters to the editor. My letters are timely, of local interest and different from the cowards they are signed.

Keys to the Game (at 49ers)
The Green Bay Packers are in the playoffs, and they’re not just here to participate. Less than a year after making seismic changes to their organization, and less than three months after falling to 2-5, the Packers are now 10-8 and in the postseason for the first time since 2021. That was all well and good, but the season was going to be a relative footnote if the Packers laid an egg in Dallas. They didn’t.
Notebook (at 49ers)
Packers’s offense vs. 49ers’ defense All eyes are going to be on Jordan Love as he looks for an encore performance of his sparkling playoff debut. Aaron Rodgers’ playoff debut was a game for the ages, where the Packers lost 51- 45, but Rodgers was brilliant. Love’s offense scored more points and was able to get a win, something that eluded Rodgers in his first go-round of the postseason. We’re running out of superlatives for Love at this point.
