Resolutions easier to keep when awards are involved

Did you make any New Year’s resolutions? If so, how’s it going? For most of us, the answer falls somewhere between not so good and not at all. After a lifetime of failing to keep all but one resolution, I consider these promises-to-self more aspirational than obligatory. This means if you falter, you don’t just quit trying. Less likely to get depressed that way. Are you curious as to the one resolution I did keep?
Bird counts reveals impacts of climate change
My husband and I participated in Audubon’s 124th Christmas Bird Count (CBC) this past year, joining other birders to identify and count birds in our assigned survey area. Survey areas are located within 15-mile radius circles; our survey area was just west of Peshtigo. On Dec. 16, from just after sunup to almost sundown, the group had the fun of observing a total of 40 species and 3,134 birds.

Jerome “Jerry” R. Krueger passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano. Jerome Russell Krueger was born Feb. 28, 1943, to Alvin “Jake” and Gladys (Olson) Krueger. He was united in marriage to JoAnn Bricco on Sept. 12, 1963, at the St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville.
