Book Woman saga continues with daughter
A few years ago, I read Kim Michele Richardson’s “The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek.” It sketches out life in 1930s Kentucky and relates how the women of The Pack Horse Library Project would ride a circuit into the surrounding mountain to deliver library materials to the isolated homes there. This week I discovered the next book in the series, “The Book Woman’s Daughter.” Cussy Mary Lovet had been one of the pioneer book women.
Charger girls place second at Northland Pines
The Wittenberg-Birnamwood girls track and field team scored 149.5 points and placed second out of eight teams at the Northland Pines Indoor Invitational on March 14 in Eagle River.
Suring leads area schools at UW-O invite
Suring collected 38 points and finished in ninth place out of 42 teams at the small-school invite at UW-Oshkosh on March 14.
