Glen L. Allen, age 85, of the Town of Maine, Outagamie County, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Neenah. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville, is assisting the family.

Volunteers have transformed the look of the Nancy Byng Community Theater from a quaint country church to a contemporary theater venue. Repainting the former church building was a momentous task, requiring a group of hardworking volunteers, 30 gallons of paint, a boom lift, and favorable weather. Ronald and Donna Wuske are hoping to add bathrooms and changing rooms to the barn used as a private reception venue on their land. The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction released the general aid estimates for public school districts July 1, and it looks like every school district in Shawano, Oconto and Menominee counties — save one — can expect an increase in state funding. Suring is one of 124 school districts in Wisconsin that can expect to see a decrease in funding for the 2024-25 school year.

Barbara J. Engebretsen Buettner, age 80, of Gillett, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 28, 2024, surrounded by her family. Barb was born on April 22, 1944. in Green Bay to the late Edwin and Gertrude (Wagner) Kallies. She was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pulcifer.
