Oct. 10 Pulaski 1, Manitowoc 1 The Red Raiders and Ships played to a 1-1 draw. Manitowoc’s goal came 45 seconds into the match, courtesy of Grant Graf. Pulaski was able to equalize in the 45th minute with a goal off a corner kick from Hudson Schultz. Donovan Holderness got the assist. Neither team was able to find a winner. Mitchell Drescher made 13 saves in goal for Manitowoc (3-12-2, 2-3-2).

The presidential election in November has many in the country ready to go out and vote, but some are trusting in the disproven claims of former President Donald Trump that the election process is being stolen. That doesn’t fly with Oconto County Clerk Kim Pytleski.

The Democratic candidate for the 6th Assembly District took the Shawano Common Council to task Oct.

Convicted sex offender Douglas A. Mauritz, 50, will be moving to N2901 Split Rock Road, Tigerton, according to information from law enforcement officials. Mauritz was convicted on Aug. 24, 2015, of repeated acts of sexual assault against the same child (at least three violations of first or second degree sexual assault) and sexual assault of a child, both class C felonies.

Oct. 8 Pulaski 10, Ashwaubenon 0 The Pulaski Red Raiders cruised to a 10-0 victory over the visiting Jaguars. Pulaski got a fast start, scoring two goals in the first five minutes of the game.

Oct. 8 Gresham 3, Tigerton 0 Gresham shut out Tigerton 3-0 and stayed atop the Central Wisconsin North Conference with a 7-2 mark.

Oct. 8 WIAA Subsectionals The Shawano girls tennis season came to an end at subsectionals at Western Racquet & Fitness Club in Ashwaubenon. Rachael Carroll had a first round win in three sets but was unable to stage a comeback to make it to sectionals. “A team that only returned two subsectional participants played their best against some of the best competition in northeast Wisconsin,” coach Matt Zoll said.

Oct. 8 Division 2 Seymour Sectional Oconto Falls’ Taylor Miller tied for second place at Crystal Springs Golf Course in Seymour and qualified for the WIAA state golf meet. She scored a 92 on the par-72 course. As a team, the Panthers placed fourth with a 409. Joining Miller were Olivia Wagner at 103, Ava Salscheider at 106 and Kylie Thompson at 108.
