To the editor, As a family physician, I am deeply concerned about potential changes to Medicaid funding and coverage. Medicaid is a lifeline to affordable, accessible health care for millions of low-income individuals and families, including many of my patients. I work at the Menominee Tribal Clinic, an IHS supported but independently-run Native-owned clinic by the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin.

To the editor, Our state’s future will be determined when we elect a new justice for the Wisconsin Supreme Court on April 1. Judge Susan Crawford has an outstanding record; however, she has been the victim of multiple lies by her opponent, Brad Schimel, and his benefactor, Elon Musk. Ads have accused her of being easy on crime despite her record of putting violent criminals behind bars.

To the editor: I support Circuit Court Judge Brad Schimel in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race. When I served locally in the circuit court, Attorney General Schimel provided assistance to our district attorney office on more than one case that was complex. I believe that Judge Schimel interprets the law, believing that the legislature decided public policy issues.

Shawano County Sheriff’s Department March 23 Deputies responded to 37 incidents, including noise on South Warrington Avenue in Cecil; animal bite on Maple Street in Birnamwood; threatening on County Road P in the Town of Germania; two 911 calls; 23 crashes, one involving deer. March 22 Deputies responded to 20 incidents, including a failure to report to jail at the Huber Work Release Center, 1240 Engel Drive, Shawano; operating while intoxicated

The snowstorm preceding the first day of spring might not show that the season is beginning, but itching eyes and runny noses could be just around the corner. The end of the winter season usually means the start of a variety of allergy seasons, starting with tree pollen, according to Dr. Monica Vasudev, allergist and immunologist with Aurora Health Care. Tree pollen usually impacts northeast Wisconsin in March, April and May.

The multi-year attempt to repair and improve sidewalks in Wittenberg may be drawing close to a conclusion. Mary Jo Miller with Martenson and Eisele reported to the Wittenberg Village Board on March 18 that its efforts to improve pedestrian walkways could be starting this summer.
