A Tigerton couple is facing felony drug charges after a search warrant was executed at their residence Friday.
Timothy J. Stenson, 56, and Laura J. Budreau, 47, are each charged with felony counts of manufacture and delivery of marijuana and maintaining a drug trafficking place. Each count carries a maximum possible penalty of 3 ½ years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Shawano County authorities and Tigerton police executed the search warrant Friday morning and seized two marijuana plants, a grow light, a baggie of marijuana, a grinder, drug paraphernalia and a plastic baggie of white pills.
The pills were found to be Xanax, which authorities say were obtained without a prescription, leading to an additional misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Stenson and Budreau were both taken into custody without incident.
According to the criminal complaint, Budreau said the marijuana plants had been dropped off the night before, but she refused to say who left them.
Stenson and Budreau are both free on a $2,000 signature bond.
Stenson is due back in Shawano-Menominee County Circuit Court on Sept. 23 for a preliminary hearing. Budreau is scheduled for an adjourned initial appearance Aug. 26.
