Letter: Menominee change tune on mining?

To the editor: When Gov. Thompson was promoting a mine at the headwaters of the Wolf River, the Menominee leadership was vehemently opposed. In his letter to the editor (Aug. 31), Menominee Chairman Craig Corn writes, “We’ve seen Gov. Walker show admirable grit and tenacity in promoting mining legislation.” I guess it depends on who’s backyard the mine is located. It’s an insult to all who worked so hard to prevent the Crandon Mine, and especially to Walt Bresette, from Red Cliff, whose spirit must surely be tormented by this statement. Len Pubanz Shawano
