Arbor View Gardens will open for the season on May 17. The gardens will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday every week through September.
Arbor View is a public garden that encompasses many aspects of home gardening as well as garden art and a touch of the exotic. Visitors can learn about gardening or simply enjoy nature’s beauty in various themed settings. This marks the 14th year the gardens have been open to the public.
Probably the most notable additions to the gardens this year are the works of garden art, also called earth art, including whimsical folk art created by volunteer Gareth Sturms with recycled steel materials and a sculpture by Ren Katchenago.
The visitor center includes informational materials on plants, gardening and more. There is also a Little Free Library with books on gardening, natural and environmental sciences and more.
As in the past, admission to Arbor View Gardens will be through a free-will donation. The gardens are located a half mile southeast of Embarrass, on the corner of Palmer Road and County Road C. All visitors are asked to use the main entrance on Palmer Road.
