Shawano Community High School’s girls placed seventh and the boys eighth Thursday at the Pulaski Invitational.
De Pere won the girls meet, while Seymour won the boys meet.
SCHS senior Kia Smurawa finished second in the 100-meter dash, fourth in the 300-meter hurdles and fifth in the 100-meter hurdles. She also placed fourth in the long jump and in the triple jump.
Senior Isabella Gonzalez led the Hawks in the field events, with a second-place finish in the high jump.
Other Hawks finishing in the top 10 were junior Jolene Downs, fourth in the 300-meter hurdles and fifth in the 100-meter hurdles; sophomore Kristina Kurtz, sixth in the pole vault and the 800-meter run; sophomore Kathryn Kugel, sixth in the 3,200-meter run; sophomore Gabby Krueger, seventh in the discus; senior Kayla Hokenstad, ninth in the 400-meter dash; Malory Soper and Jolene Downs, tied for ninth in the pole vault; sophomore Alyssa Anker, 10th in the discus.
The Hawks’ 4x100-meter relay team of Gonzalez, Ashley Knope, Soper and Sara Hokenstad finished second. The same quartet finished fourth in the 4x200-meter relay. Soper teamed with Smurawa and Kristina and Lindsey Kurtz for a sixth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay.
The boys were led by senior Brice Bergner’s third-place finish in the 200-meter dash.
Other Hawks finishing in the top 10 were junior Dan Boivin, fourth in the 300-meter hurdles and sixth in the triple jump; senior Carlos Merino, fifth in the long jump; junior Jake Klister, fifth in the 1,600-meter run; freshman Tyrell Hesse, eighth in the high jump; sophomore Ezekiel Gueths, eighth in the discus; sophomore Austin Lhotka, ninth in the 800-meter run; freshman Andrew Cardish, eighth in the 3,200-meter run.
Shawano placed fourth in the 4x200, sixth in the 4x400 and eighth in the 4x800 relays.
