September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when the Shawano City-County Library joins with the American Library Association and public libraries nationwide to make sure every student has a free library card.
Library cards are free and available at any age, beginning at birth.
Resources at the Shawano City-County Library are available to anyone who has a library card. Students can turn to the library for materials, programs and services that support academic achievement, both at the library as well as online through the library’s website (infosoup.org).
“Our library provides all types of students a welcoming atmosphere where they can explore, discover and create,” said Kristie Hauer, library director. “Students learn in a variety of ways. Thanks to the resources available at the library, we can meet the needs of all ages and types of learners. Whether that is through homework help, programs, or print or digital books, the library has something for everyone.”
During September, everyone getting a library card for the first time or updating an account will be entered into a prize drawing.
You also can win a prize by showing your library card to the Library Card Patrol out in the community.
