Daniel J. Owen, 71, of Shawano, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 4, in Shawano. Born on Dec. 31, 1942, he was the son of the late Roger Owen and Dorothy (Grosskopf) Owen.
Daniel graduated from Shawano High School in 1961 and went on to work at Four Wheel Drive as a machinist. On Aug. 8, 1964, Daniel was united in marriage to Diane Montour. He enjoyed NASCAR, hunting, fishing, the Packers and Badgers. Daniel also liked old cars and attending various car shows. He loved going to his property on Moose Lake near Antigo.
Daniel is survived by his children, Jeffrey Owen, of Shawano, Kelly (Mark) Jahnke, of Oshkosh; four grandchildren, Nicole, Tucker and Tanner Jahnke, and Ashley Owen; his mother, Dorothy Owen, of Shawano; two nieces, Kathy (Don) Lealiou and Terri Oettinger, both of Green Bay; his former wife, Diane; and many other relatives and friends.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Roger, and his sister, Lee Ellen Owen-Kliest.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Luke Ferris officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
