Edith M. Hough

Edith M. Hough, 81, of Shawano, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015. Edith was born on April 5, 1933, in California, the daughter of the late Rev. Edwin and Edith N. (Gassner) Reinke. She was a graduate of the Lutheran School of Nursing in St. Louis, Missouri. On June 28, 1964, Edith was united in marriage to Charles L. Hough in Chicago. Edith worked as a registered nurse at Children’s Hospital in Chicago and then at Appleton Medical Center until retirement, then moving to the Shawano area in 1999. Edith was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Bonduel, a member of L.W.M.L., as well as a past choir member. Edith is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Charles; their children, Stephanie (David) Jablonski, of Sheboygan, and Steven (special friend, Doriann) Hough, of Barrington, Illinois; five grandchildren, Tyler, Emily, Lauren, Ariana and Jordan; one sister, Sharon Schrader, of Shawano; a sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Arthur, of Sagle, Idaho; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Edith was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Edwin Reinke. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Timothy Shoup officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church from 4-8 p.m. and again on Saturday after 9 a.m. until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established.
