Few village board races on April ballot

Birnamwood and Mattoon residents will decide village board races in April, but most other village candidates across the area are running opposed. Here is a partial listing of area village, town and city races on the April 5 ballot, with primaries to be held Feb. 16 as needed. The filing deadline for the spring election was 5 p.m. Tuesday, but some communities have not yet reported their filings.
