Brad Cox, 27, Abrams, died suddenly Sunday night, Aug. 3, 2014, as the result of being struck by lightning.
He was born Feb. 27, 1987, in Oconto Falls to Robert and Dawn (Ashton-Schuessler) Cox. Brad grew up in Oconto Falls where he attended public schools and worked at the local Burger King.
He enjoyed music, animals and poetry, especially Edgar Allan Poe. As someone who liked people, Brad will be lovingly remembered as a good son, brother and father.
Survivors include his best friend and older brother, Matt (Mackenzie) Cox, Green Bay; his fiancé, Alisha Ducas, Abrams; his daughter, Alexis Rose Cox; two stepsons, Jonathon and Cody Deffke; his parents, Dawn (Ray) Schuessler, Oconto Falls, and Bob Cox, Abrams; maternal grandparents, Donald and Crystal Ashton, Green Bay; stepbrothers and stepsisters, John (Denise) Koehler, James (Jennifer) Schuessler, Jodi (Memo) Gutierrez and Jennifer (Paul) Ramadge; aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Laverne and Carol Cox.
Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls until the time of service. Prayer services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Deacon Peter Gard officiating. Cremation will follow.
