The fall session of Healthy Hearts has been cancelled at Oconto Falls Library due to Oconto County University of Wisconsin-Extension cancelling the contract of Donna Doll-Yogerst.
Donna and I have collaborated on many programs in the past, offering free programs to make Oconto County healthier.
Oconto County 2014-2018 Community Health Improvement Plan Goal 2 says “to increase the percentage of Oconto County residents who eat healthy and are physically active.”
Donna’s certification to lead Healthy Hearts and Strong Bones classes gave many seniors an opportunity to meet twice a week, learn about nutrition and do low impact exercises, improving bone density and flexibility. We cannot offer these classes anymore. No one is certified to lead them.
Contact the Extension education committee requesting this position be filled or Donna reinstated. Board members are Guy Gooding, chairperson, Chris Augustine, Karl Ballestad, Bill Grady and Buzz Kamke.
