15 families benefit from St. Clare initiative

Some families living in Oconto County are receiving a helping hand this holiday season, thanks to The Giving Tree initiative at HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls. The Giving Tree program helps identify families in need throughout the region and allows each family to create a holiday wish list. Different departments within HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital then purchase items to fulfill the families’ wish lists. This season, 27 departments at HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital provided Christmas presents for 32 children from 15 families in Oconto County. “This is what Christmas is all about,” said Amy Trepanier, surgery coordinator and The Giving Tree chairperson at HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital. “We want to make the holidays special, especially for the children.” Thanks to the help of a $300 donation from the Oconto Falls Knights of Columbus and 400 pounds of potatoes from Nicolet Farms, The Giving Tree program also provided each of the 15 families with a Christmas Day meal.
