Breakfast on Farm committee offers scholarships

The Oconto County Breakfast on the Farm committee will offer scholarships for Oconto County graduating seniors for post-secondary schooling. A $300 scholarship is available for a graduating senior from each of the Oconto County school districts and one for a county resident who is attending an out-of-county school or is home-schooled. The Oconto County Dairy Promotions Committee organizes the annual Oconto County Breakfast on the Farm each June to raise awareness of and celebrate Oconto County’s dairy industry. While members of the committee work year round to plan and organize the event, the success of the breakfast requires the contributions of many more people. In recognition of great community support, the committee contributes to a number of community organizations in the county. The new scholarship program is one more way the committee desires to give back. The scholarship application has been provided to county school guidance counselors and agriculture education instructors. It is also available for download from the Oconto County Dairy Promotions Facebook page at ocbotf.com. Applications can be completed and returned electronically or by mail. More information and directions are included in the application cover letter. Applications must be received or postmarked by May 1 to be considered. Breakfast committee chairs Jordan Rank and Bobby Windus and farm hosts John, Bev, Andy and Brian Wolf, of Golden Corners Dairy, Oconto Falls, invite all to the 2015 Breakfast on the Farm on Sunday, June 14.
