The Oconto Falls Lions on Dec. 30 opened the tubing hill located near River Island Golf Course in Oconto Falls.
Usual hours of operation will be from 1-4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays when snow conditions are good. The hill opened midweek last week to cater to the kids on Christmas break. The hill will be closed if either wind chills or temperatures are at or below zero.
There’s no charge to use the hill, but donations are appreciated. People visiting the hill should bring their own tubes and dress for the weather. The hill is equipped with a rope tow to bring sledders to the top of the hill.
To drive to the tubing hill from South Main Street, turn onto Mead Avenue. Continue straight, past a stop sign and onto an unpaved, gravel road where the tubing hill is located.
