Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s George Seegmiller and Lena’s Mason Spice each carded an 85 for the third-best score at Shamrock Heights Golf Course in Freedom.
“I was most pleased by George being able to bounce back from arguably his worst round in a number of years,” Chargers coach Chris Bartletti said.
As a team, Lena placed second with 358; Amherst won with a 346. Marion was fourth with a 374, and Wittenberg-Birnamwood was seventh with a 385. Menominee Nation/Gresham fielded an incomplete team.
Joining Spice were Mason Belongia with an 86, Cooper Demmith with an 87 and Vance Turecek with an even 100. Colt Miller carded a 104.
Marion’s top golfer was Elijah Scheef with an 89. Brady Malueg carded a 94, Collin Grogan had a 95 and Jarren Faehling carded a 96. James Nolan also had a 114.
Seegmiller was joined by Luca Pelusi with a 97, Carson Klinner with a 100 and Nicholas Flak with a 103. Roman Johnson had a 107.
Bartletti said that despite the scores, he believes his team improved.
“Luca shot a 45 on his first nine, which is by far his best nine-hole score of the season,” he said. “Nick started out on a bogey golf pace, which is a target I think he can reach, and Carson Klinner filled in as a freshman on short notice and had some nice holes. Roman struggled today, but he is a player who just needs to work some things out and will start scoring well.”
For Menominee Nation/Gresham, Elliott Penass scored a 93, and Gabe Boivin had a 109.

Dylan Clark carded a 72 to win medalist honors and lead the Oconto Falls golf team to a first-place finish at Chaska Golf Course in Greenville.
The Panthers’ 333 team scored was six strokes better than the 339 posted by second-place Luxemburg-Casco.
Oconto Falls had their score bolstered by Kadyn Riel, who carded a 77 for the second-best score of the day. Also scoring for the Panthers were Carson McDermid with an 89 and Will Allen with a 95.
Brock McDermid also carded a 96.
Bay Conference Tour Stop #5
Shawano scored 184 and placed fifth at Mid Valley Golf Course in De Pere.
Blake Knope led the Hawks with a 43. He was followed by Duane Gristeau-Blanche’s 45, Brayden Mead’s 48 and Jakob Stuhr’s 48.
T.J. Smith carded a 53.

CWC Mini-Meet #5
Bonduel’s Jaxon Bogacz carded a 79 and earned medalist honors to lead his team to a second-place finish at the Stevens Point Country Club.
Amherst won with 342, followed by Bonduel with 360, Marion in third place with 377, Wittenberg-Birnamwood in seventh with 394 and Menominee Nation/Gresham in ninth with 412.
Joining Bogacz were Colin Fisher with 88, Cameron Schroeder with 94 and Cole Westphal with 99. Cory Wussow also carded a 100.
Marion was led by Elijah Scheef’s 89. Also scoring were Collin Grogan with 90, Brady Malueg with 92 and Jarren Faehling with 106. James Nolan also carded 111.
Jaden Clark, on track to post his best round of the year fell slightly short, but still led Wittenberg-Birnamwood with 91. Also scoring were George Seegmiller with 99, Roman Johnson with 100 and Luca Pelusi with 104. Nicholas Flak carded a 121.
“It seemed like maybe we were taking a step forward today,” Wittenberg-Birnamwood coach Chris Bartletti said. “Luca and Roman posted one of their best nines of the season but couldn’t follow it up with a second satisfactory second nine. It is good to see improvement, but it still wasn’t enough today.
“George struggled today. He is a much better player than his score indicated, but the course sometimes wins. We rely heavily on George to boost our team score, and if he struggles, we all do.”
Menominee Nation/Gresham’s scores were Anikohsaeh Corn’s 97, Elliott Penass’ 98, Gabe Boivin’s 105 and Henry Lyons’ 112. Holly Brady carded a 133.
Fox River Classic Conference Mini-Meet #3
Pulaski golfers carded a 339 and placed sixth among 10 teams at Fox Valley Golf Course in Kaukauna.
Scoring for the Red Raiders were Dixon Holewinski with an 80, Brady Hayward with an 81, Casey Madlem with an 87 and Nathan Jossie with a 91.
Ethan Berger also carded a 95.
