Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s George Seegmiller scored an 82 in a three-way tie for second place on the Whistling Straits/Irish Course. Marathon’s Myles Handrick was the medalist at 79.
“I was again extremely happy with the performance of George (Seegmiler),” Wittenberg-Birnamwood coach Chris Bartletti said. “He is proving to be not only one of the best players in our conference but an overall exceptional player. He managed the tough conditions and was able to tie for second overall in the field.”
In team scores, Bonduel placed fifth with a 391, followed by Wittenberg-Birnamwood in sixth with a a 401. Marion finished eighth with a 422, and Menominee Nation/Gresham was 10th with a 424.
“Again, we didn’t play well, but some of that can be attributed to the extremely difficult conditions (wind, rain, cold temperature, and a difficult course),” Bartletti said. “With that said, every team played in the same conditions, and we were only able to beat half of them.”
Amherst won the meet with a 350.
“Amherst has really set the bar as the team to beat in the conference. They are a solid team from top to bottom,” Bartletti said. “It is still early in the season, and I am confident we will improve. The question is by how much.”

Wittenberg-Birnamwood: George Seegmiller 82, Jaden Clark 100, Nicholas Flak 109, Carson Klinner 110. Roman Johnson carded a 120.
Marion: Brady Malueg 96, Elijah Scheef 104, Jarren Faehling 109, Collin Grogan 113. James Nolan carded a 114.
Menominee Nation/Gresham: Elliott Penass 100, Anikohsaeh Corn 104, Gabe Boivin 109, King Lyons 111. Henry Lyons carded a 112.
