Rosholt Back the Track
Wittenberg-Birnamwood track and field athletes captured 10 first-place spots against 11 teams at Rosholt.
Kaden Yaeger won the 100-meter dash in 11.65 and the 200-meter dash in 23.51. Jett Rogowski won the 400-meter dash in 52.67. Bryson Schmid won the 300-meter hurdles in 44.75, and the 4x400 team won in 3:33.93.
Landen Schmidt also captured two titles, winning the discus at 150-8 and the shot put at 45-9.75.
Rogowski also placed No. 2 in the 200-meter dash and second in the long jump. Alex Sanderson was second in the 300-meter hurdles.
Schmid earned third in the 110-meter hurdles, with Sanderson taking fourth.
Logan Gibson was fourth in the 400-meter dash.
Yaeger was fifth in the triple jump.
Bonduel runners captured four first-place finishes.
Mariah Wondra won the 1,600-meter run in 5:30.26 and the 3,200-meter run in 11:50.02. Peyton Westrich won the 100-meter dash in 13.51.
For the boys, Sam Roberts won the long jump at 19 feet 8.5 inches.
Westrich placed second in the 200-meter dash and the 400-meter dash, while Paige Niquette was third in the 100-meter dash.
Teagan Engel finished fifth in the 1,600-meter run and third in the 3,200-meter run.
The 4x800-meter relay team placed third, while the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 teams all placed fourth.
Audrey Weier placed second in the high jump, and Josie Pawlak was second in the long jump. Abbi Heller was fifth in the shot put.
Malachi Gray earned second place in the 100-meter dash. Mason Ballwahn placed third in the 200-meter dash, followed by Roberts in fifth. Gage Scholl was second in the 400-meter dash.
In the 3,200-meter run, Joah Dworniczak placed third and Garrett Anderson was fourth.
The 4x400 and 4x800 teams each placed second. Roberts also placed second in the triple jump.
Griffin Uelmen placed third in the high jump.
Eva Brooks and Zander Thomson led the Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas team.
Brooks won the high jump at 5-4.
Thomson won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.18 and high jump at 6-0.
Kate Peter placed third in the pole vault, and Karli Fischer was fifth.
Brooks was also fifth in the 100-meter hurdles. The 4x100 and 4x400 teams each placed fifth.
For the boys, Thomson also earned fourth place in the long jump.
Lucas Heimke placed fifth in the 400-meter dash.
Suring’s Aliya Cox won the long jump at 16-2. She was also second in the 100-meter hurdles, second in the 300-meter hurdles and second in the triple jump.
Tessa Losurdo placed second in the pole vault, and Ginger Gerndt was fourth.
Bunny Cramer placed fourth in the 800-meter run, and the 4x800 team was also fourth.
The boys were led by the 4x200 team that placed third, and Dayne Ermis’ third-place spot in the high jump.
Michael Bailey was third in the pole vault, with Gavin Staszik in fourth.
Blake DeGrave placed fourth in the 300-meter hurdles. Bradley Bayer finished fourth in the discus, and Bailey was fifth.
Liam Matelski was fifth in the 3,200-meter run.
St. Norbert Elite Meet
Gillett’s Bradyn Wendorff won the 800-meter run in De Pere. He set a personal record of 2:00.87.
In the 4x400, the group of Jed Herzog, Scott Heroux, Nash Stage and Wendorff placed eighth.
Hope Soper placed sixth in the triple jump, seventh in the 300-meter hurdles and eighth in the 100-meter hurdles for the girls.
Audrey Pate finished fourth in the triple jump, fifth in the discus and seventh in the shot put.
April 24
Eagles Invite
Menominee Nation’s girls won their own invite with 152.33 points, followed by Oneida Nation 125, Gresham 71 and Wolf River Lutheran 36.66.
Oneida Nation won the boys events with 111 points, followed by Gresham with 110, Menominee Nation 77 and Wolf River Lutheran 54.
All three local schools garnered first-place finishes.
For the boys, Menominee Nation’s Barron Waupoose won the 100-meter dash in 11.83 and the 200-meter dash in 23.71.
The Eagles’ Bryant Waupoose won the 1,600-meter run in 5:04.12.
Wolf River Lutheran’s Caleb Bohmbach won the 110-meter hurdles in 20.47 and the 300-meter hurdles in 50.00.
Winning the 4x100 were Menominee Nation’s Francis Delabrau, Kenew Awonohopay, Michael Salgado and Barron Waupoose in 47.05.
Gresham/Bowler’s Ethan May, Cody Mehlberg, Kobe Miller and Riley Hohensee won the 4x200 in 1:48.15.. The school’s foursome of Adam Gourley, Roberto Martinez, Brett Schreiber and Mason Martin won the 4x400 in 5:02.67.
The 4x800 title was won by Menominee Nation’s John Boyd, Colt Dixon, Thomas Nacotee and Cody Peters in 11:32.01.
Winning the shot put was Menominee Nation’s Miklo Guzman at 35-7.
The Eagles won the high jump (Anthony Silas at 5-2), the long jump (Awonohopay at 18-4) and triple jump (Awonohopay at 37-10).
Menominee Nation’s Madeline Tomow won the 100-meter dash in 14.54, while Urijah Reevis won the 400-meter dash in 1:05.01.
Violet Buchholz, of Wolf River Lutheran, won the 1,600-meter run in 6:20:26 and the 3,200-meter run in 14:07.44.
The 100-meter hurdles was won by Tamia Menore of Menominee Nation in 21.46.
Gresham/Bowler’s Hannah Long, Kinleigh Pigott, Roselynn Rosenow and Emily Jensen won the 4x100 in 1:06.42.
Gresham/Bowler also won the 4x400 in 5:21.38 and the 4x800 in 13:39.44. Team members of the 4x400 were Addison Fischer, Cami Gourley, Long and Alivia Perez. On the 4x800 team were Gourley, Long, Perez and Jensen.
Jensen won the shot put at 30 feet and the discus at 79-3.
Gresham/Bowler also won the high jump (Perez at 4-2), the long jump (Fischer at 13-6) and triple jump (Fischer at 29-10.)
Manawa Early-Season
Marion’s track and field teams placed fourth out of five teams at Manawa. The girls tallied 45 points, while the boys had 43.5.
Brittany Beechy was second in the 1,600-meter run. Presley Stewart-Rolfs was runner-up in the shot put and discus.
Kennedy Zuniga placed third in the 800-meter run and third in the high jump.
Also in third were the 4x100-meter relay team of Stewart-Rolfs, Kailey Rosenow, Sophia Wudstruck and Bella Conover, and the 4x200 team of Hailey Burmeister, Wudstruck, Jorja Karst and Rosenow.
The 4x400 team was also in third. Runners were Beechy, Burmeister, Rosenow and Bridget Much. The same position held true for the 4c800 team of Much, Zuniga, Beechy and Peters.
Rolfs was fourth in the high jump.
Klara Peters finished fifth in the 100-meter dash.
For the boys, Tristan Herro won the discus with a throw of 96 feet 6 inches. He was also second in the high jump and fourth in the long jump.
Luke Aiello placed third in the 1,600-meter run, and Anthony Pagon was third in the triple jump.
Placing third in the 4x100 were Pagon, Jolanzo LeRoy, Alex Abrahamson and Caleb Stern. Third place in the 4x200 went to Herro, Landon Marquardt, Liam Thomas and Aiello.
Abrahamson placed fourth in the 100-meter dash, and Aiello was fourth in the shot put.
Also in fourth was the 4x400 team of Pagon, Tanner Dent, Adam Leithan and LeRoy.
Thomas placed fourth in the discus.
LeRoy was fifth in the 400-meter dash. Dent tied for fifth in the shot put.
April 22
Wittenberg Invitational
The Wittenberg-Birnamwood girls won their home invite with 138.5 points. Bonduel placed second with 117.5, and Menominee Nation was 10th with 21.
The Charger boys placed fourth with 78 points, with Bonduel in seventh with 60 points and Menominee Nation in eighth with 36 points.
In the girls events,Witt-Birn’s Harper Rogowski won the top spot in the 400-meter dash in 1:03.46, and Menominee Nation’s Urijah Reevis ran the fastest in the 800-meter run in 2:41.95.
Bonduel’s Mariah Wondra won the 1,600-meter run in 5:36.59 and the 3,200-meter run in 11:31.03.
Faith Resch won the 100-meter hurdles for Wittenberg-Birnamwood in 16.51. She also won the high jump at 5-2 and the triple jump at 34-11.
The Bonduel 4x200-meter relay team won in 1:55.41, and the 4x800 team won in 10:44.26. The Wittenberg-Birnamwood team won the 4x400 in 4:18.11.
Harper Krull of Wittenberg-Birnamwood won the long jump at 16-0.25.
