Gillett dropped to 0-2 overall after suffering a 34-0 shutout at the hands of visiting Florence.
Florence scored in each quarter en route to their lopsided non-conference win.
Sept. 6
Bonduel 34, Southern Door 3
It took a while for Bonduel to get going, but once they did, the Bears kept at it as they topped Southern Door 34-3 in both teams’ opening Packerland Conference game.
Bonduel led 8-3 at halftime and then added 13 points in each of the final two quarters.
The Bears will host Kewaunee at 7 p.m. Sept. 13.
Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas 24, Oneida Nation/NEW Lutheran 0
Tyler Shallow scored a pair of touchdowns and Calvin Peters added another as Lena won in a 24-0 shutout.
Peters scored on a 14-yard run in the first quarter.
Both of Shallow’s TDs came in the second quarter. He carried the ball in from 27 yards out, and then, fewer than six minutes later, he carried it in from the two-yard line.
There was no scoring in the second half.
Peters carried the ball 18 times for 114 yards. Shallow had 10 carries for 79 yards, and Max Peterson had 12 carries for 47 yards. All told, Lena had 240 yards on the ground.
Next up is a home game against Sevastopol at 7 p.m. Sept. 13.
Tigerton/Marion 26, Three Lakes/Phelps 25
One point was the difference as Tigerton/Marion topped Three Lakes/Phelps 26-25.
Tigerton/Marion jumped out to a 12-0 first quarter lead and held a 12-7 advantage at the half.
Three Lakes/Phelps scored in the third quarter to take a 13-12 lead.
Tigerton/Marion outscored Three Lakes/Phelps 14-12 in the fourth quarter to win by a point.
They will travel to Menominee Nation for a 4:30 p.m. Sept. 13 game.
Oconto Falls 39, Crivitz 7
Isaac Bramer rushed for three touchdowns as the Panthers dispatched their hosts with ease 39-7.
Bramer carried the ball 14 times for 79 yards. He scored twice in the second quarter, both from five yards out. He scored from four yards away in the third quarter.
Wyatt Laughrin aided the Panthers’ rushing attack with 12 carries and 106 yards and one TD. He scored on a 46-yard run in the first quarter.
Emerich Skarban tossed seven complete passes out of 11 attempts for 132 yards and a TD. A 34-yard pass to Cole Bozile was good for a score, following Skarban’s own 15-yard rushing touchdown, both in the second quarter.
Brayden Majerczyk had an interception for Oconto Falls.
The Panthers will host Crandon at 7 p.m. Sept. 13.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood 35, Weyauwega-Fremont 0
The Chargers started CWC-Large Conference play with a 35-0 shutout at Weyauwega-Fremont.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood spread out its scoring with eight in the first quarter, 14 in the second, six in the third and seven in the fourth.
Bryson Schmid completed 4-of-5 passing attempts for 57 yards and one touchdown. He also returned a kickoff for an 85-yard touchdown.
Jett Rogowski caught two balls for 22 yards and a TD.
On the ground, the Chargers were led by Schmid with 17 rushes and 192 yards. Owen Dickman added 82 yards on 11 carries, as the Charger racked up 341 rushing yards on 39 carries.
Tri-County 44, Menominee Nation 0
Menominee Nation lost its Mideast Conference opener 44-0 at Tri-County High School.
Seymour 44, Shawano 13
Shawano dropped to 1-2 with a 44-13 loss at Seymour.
The Hawks kept it close, only trailing 8-7 at the end of the first quarter. However, Seymour scored 22 unanswered points in the second quarter and another 14 in the third to lead 44-7.
Shawano scored its final six points in the fourth quarter.
The Hawks will host New London at 7 p.m. Sept. 13.
Sevastopol 6, Suring 0
A running touchdown in the fourth quarter was all the scoring in the game, but it was enough for Sevastopol to win 6-0.
Michael Pecanas competed his only pass attempt for 25 yards. Michael Bailey was the recipient of the pass.
Jake Cornell led the rushing game with 32 yards on five carries.
Kroix Kempka recorded 10 tackles for the Eagles.
