One week after giving up 22 runs to Bonduel in their Dairyland League opener, Nichols responded with a 12-5 win over the Shawano Lobos.
The game was one of four Dairyland games scheduled for May 10. Results were not reported from the other three games, while two teams — Pulaski and Hofa Park — had a bye.

Kevin VanDenLangenberg drove in five runs to lead Nichols to the win on the Lobos’ home field.
He had a three-run double in the third inning and added a two-run home run in the next inning.
Winning pitcher Cade Johnson struck out 10 batters over five innings. Ashton Henning took the loss for Shawano after giving up eight hits and seven runs over four innings.
Justin Krull and Nick Volz each had three of Nichols’ 14 hits, while Marcus Jens added two.
Carson Popp drove in two of Shawano’s five runs, while Will Bieber and Henning added two hits.
