Hope Community Church is inviting individuals and families from across the community to celebrate Holy Week and experience a message of hope, forgiveness and new life.

Friends of the Mountain Bay State Trail will have a trail tender celebration and annual gathering from 5-7 p.m. April 7 at Shawano County Park Pavilion, W5785 Lake Drive, Shawano.

The Wittenberg Area Community Band is seeking members 17 and older who can play any instrument.

Rehearsals and concerts will be held in June and July.

There will be at least one new face on the Oconto Falls School Board following the April 7 election.

Incumbent Emilie Trudell is seeking another term, while Misty Gilbertson and Brandon Martzke seek to earn a spot. Two people will be elected to serve three-year terms.

All candidates were sent questionnaires about themselves and the issues. Gilbertson did not respond to inquiries.

Several prescribed burns are planned this spring and summer throughout northern Wisconsin’s Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, including at five locations in Oconto County.
