Myrtle D. Koeller

Myrtle D. Koeller, 91, of the town of Richmond, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014, at a local nursing home. Born on July 4, 1922, in Shawano, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Alma (Huebner) Berndt. On Aug. 22, 1942, Myrtle was united in marriage to Clarence M. Koeller. The couple farmed in the town of Richmond until Clarence’s death on Oct. 21, 2001. Myrtle was an active member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano, where she was a member of the Valpo Guild, Ladies Aid and the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the Shawano Homemakers, the Shawano Farm Bureau, a Kiwani-Ann and a 4-H leader. Myrtle is survived by her daughter, Judy (Dennis) Tomchek, of Shawano; son, John (Nancy) Koeller, of Shawano; four grandchildren, Rebecca (Michael) Wellner, Jed (Heather) Tomchek, Maria Koeller and Eliza Koeller; five great-grandchildren, Seth, Olivia, Gage, Cole and Rose; sisters-in-law, Barbara Koeller and Eleanor Koeller; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, a granddaughter, Anne Koeller, her parents and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. William Otte officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
