The Oconto Falls High School Music Department awarded $200 scholarships to students who participated in choir or band for the past four years and excelled in musicianship, leadership and character.
The choir recipients are Arianna Bloom, Eva Finke, Megan Heller, Kaylie Hetzel, Hannah Knutson, Carly Lemke and Kaitlyn Spaude. The band recipients are Rebecca Doan, Holly Johnston, Cody Tappa, Adam Thomson and Stephanie Wirtz. Emily Winkler participated in choir and band.
Bloom, daughter of Tammy and John Klimpke, Oconto Falls, will attend Northeast Wisconsin Technical College to pursue a degree in early childhood education.
Doan, daughter of Anthony Doan, Abrams, will attend the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities School of Design to study graphic design.
Finke, daughter of Erick and Anne Marie Finke, Oconto Falls, will study music performance and biology at St. Norbert College in De Pere.
Heller, daughter of Fred and Brenda Heller, Lena, will attend Brigham Young University-Provo to begin general studies.
Hetzel, daughter of Michael and Jodi Hetzel, Little Suamico, will study communications at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Johnston, daughter of Catherine Karman and Fred Johnston, De Pere, will attend UW-Green Bay to pursue a degree in criminal justice.
Knutson, daughter of Craig and Janice Knutson, Abrams, will pursue a degree in vocal performance at St. Norbert College.
Lemke, daughter of Rick and Renee Lemke, Oconto Falls, will attend St. Cloud State in St. Cloud, Minnesota, to pursue a degree in social work.
Spaude, daughter of Scott and Amy Spaude, Little Suamico, will attend Rochester Institute of Technology in New York to study journalism and digital media.
Tappa, son of Ronald and Karen Tappa, Oconto Falls, will attend the University of Advancing Technology in Tempe, Arizona, to study video game programming.
Thomson, son of John and Tammy Thomson, Oconto Falls, will attend UW-Marinette to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.
Winkler, daughter of David and Melissa Winkler, Oconto Falls, will attend Concordia University in Mequon to pursue a degree in pharmacy.
Wirtz, daughter of Timothy and Renee Wirtz, Oconto, will attend NWTC and UW-Green Bay to pursue a degree in nursing.
