My wonderful daughter Marguerite Fogelberg started her new adventure in heaven on Friday morning, Nov. 7, 2014, following an acute illness with cancer. She was born March 1, 1963, in Boulder, Colorado, to Newell and Jean Fogelberg.
As a young woman, Marguerite moved to Ord, Nebraska, where she opened and operated a greenhouse. Anything you ever wanted to know about gardening, Marguerite was your go-to person. During this time she was blessed with the birth of her darling daughter, Emma.
Marguerite will be fondly remembered for her affection and care of all animals. Cats and dogs seemed to know that her door step was where they needed to be to receive the love, care and protection that they were seeking. She traveled to many countries in her youth, including Iran. She climbed Machu Picchu in Peru with her granddad when she was 18 and he was 83.
Marguerite was like a shooting star, so bright, so brilliant and a life so brief.
Survivors are her pride and joy, Emma Fogelberg; her mother, Jean (Jim Valentine) Fogelberg, Oconto Falls; one brother, Larry (Debbie) Leslie; nieces Rebecca, Rhonda, Roxanna and nephew Daniel, Kingman, Arizona; as well as many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, father and two sisters, Lora and Linda.
We want to thank the doctors from Mayo Clinic, Drs. Julie and Dan Stevens, Ascera Care Hospice and the wonderful caretakers who stood by her side during her fight with cancer. The loving care they showered on Marguerite and Emma during this difficult time will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Life was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at the Ord Memorial Chapel in Ord, Nebraska, with the Rev. Trever Rook officiating. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday. Burial was in the Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder, Colorado.
Memorials are suggested to the humane society.
