Laura F. Prausa (nee Bengtson), 97, passed away on Feb. 5, 2022 in Spring Hill, Florida. She was born March 1, 1924 to the late August and Anna (Benson) Bengtson in Swedetown, Oconto County.
Laura met and married Harold Prausa on Dec. 10, 1943. They were married 63 years. Laura was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Appleton and Spirit of Grace Lutheran Church in Hudson, Florida.
Laura was involved in various Masonic activities. Her biggest joy in life was traveling with Harold and being with her family and friends, especially at their cottage at Legend Lake in Wisconsin and their home in Florida, where they first moved to in 1991. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joys of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; sister, Rose; and parents, August and Anna Bengtson.
Laura is survived by her son, Les (Barbara) Prausa; daughter, Ann (James) Bromwell; and five grandchildren, Richard (Shannon) Prausa, Jeremy (Stacy) Jahn, Thomas (Amy) Prausa, Jessica (Scott) Touve, Susan (Henry) Long.
She is further survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held in Florida at Spirit of Grace Lutheran Church on Feb. 19. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 25 at Appleton Highland Park in Appleton. The service will begin at 11 a.m.
We would like to thank all who cared for Laura, especially the caregivers and staff at the Residence at Timber Pines where she resided the last 10 months of her life.
