Donations to the Shawano Goodwill store from Monday through Wednesday will benefit the Safe Haven Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Support Center in Shawano.
Goodwill’s donation attendants will help donors unload items brought to the Shawano store, 300 Lakeland Road, and provide tax-deductible receipts. The store is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. each of those days.
“By donating goods that you no longer need, it keeps these items out of the landfills, restocks our shelves when store inventories run low, and helps people in our community at the same time,” said Jim Vanden Boom, community engagement leader for Goodwill Industries of North Central Wisconsin.
Stacey Cicero, executive director of Safe Haven, said Goodwill and Safe Haven have had an excellent working relationship over the years, and the donation drive is another example of their collaboration.
“Goodwill has always been very supportive of our programs and assists our clients by providing them with Good Neighbor certificates to use when shopping in its stores, as well as offering job training through the New Horizon program,” Cicero said. “Our clients have benefited greatly from both of these programs.”
