Gillett School Board members on Thursday expressed surprise over the resignation of Jeremy Pach, principal at the middle and high school for the past two years.
School Board member Cliff Gerbers said the resignation was completely unexpected.
“He is an individual that has the respect of the community,” Gerbers said. “At the meeting I voted to accept his resignation with regret, and I do feel that.”
The board voted 6-1 to approve the resignation, effective Aug. 20, with Miles Winkler, board president, dissenting.
Pach is pursuing employment in the Pulaski School District, where he lives with his wife, son and newborn daughter.
He has been employed by the Gillett School District for 10 years.
He was hired in 2004 as a business education teacher and added the duties of dean of students in 2006. He switched teaching positions in 2008 to alternative education teacher and then became the interim principal for the middle and high school in 2010.
“I have had nothing but positive experience with the Gillett School District,” Pach said. “From my years coaching junior high football and junior varsity basketball to the wonderful relationships I have built with my peers in education, I have loved every minutes of being in all of the various positions within the district.”
Several other personnel moves also were approved at Thursday’s meeting. Resignation were accepted from special education aide Kim Karban, food server Kym Reed and high school head wrestling coach Brady Holtz.
Contracts were extended to Brittany Kastens, part-time elementary math Title I teacher; Brandon Doucette, full-time GOAL teacher; Barb Brodahl, elementary special education teacher; and Patrick Nelson, part-time custodian.
Justin Daul was named head coach of the girls varsity basketball team.
