Gillett Chamber creates Forever Fund

Funds from the former Revitalize Gillett nonprofit organization have been transferred into the new Gillett Area Chamber of Commerce under the title Forever Fund. “We are currently accepting applications out of that fund to help beautify the city, maybe do some facade work and things for businesses,” Alderperson Jerry Luther said during the Sept. 5 meeting of the Gillett City Council. “Anyone who had applications in before should resubmit them to make sure they’re current.” Chris Byars, president of the Gillett Area Chamber of Commerce, said applications are available at gillettchamber.com. Interested parties can either download the form to print out or fill out the application online. “It’s for businesses and organizations for things that are beautifying their facility or make it better for residents and make their businesses better for the community,” Byars said. Applications close Oct. 15 and grants will be announced at the chamber’s annual banquet meeting Nov. 14, he said. wbluhm@newmedia-wi.com
