Evelyn M. Karstedt, 96, formerly of Cecil, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, in Shawano.
Evelyn was born on Dec. 26, 1918, to the late Leonard F. and Minnie (Krueger) Sederstrom in the township of Wabeno. She married Theodore “Ted” Karstedt. He preceded her in death on Aug. 28, 1983. Evelyn was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Cecil. She was a member of the St. John’s Ladies Guild and served many years on the Church Consistory.
She is survived by her son, Fred (Anna) Karstedt Sr., of Clintonville; two grandsons, Fred (Linda) Karstedt Jr. ,of Des Moines, Iowa, and Robert Karstedt, of Richfield, Minnesota; two great-granddaughters, Brittney (Jerry) Therriault and Hannah Karstedt; a sister-in-law, Betty Sederstrom, Shawano.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore “Ted” Karstedt, four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 27, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Cecil with the Rev. Moira Finley officiating. Family and friends may call on Monday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano.
Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be given to St. John’s United Church of Christ.
