E. Thomas Dennison, 77, of Eau Claire, died peacefully at home on Friday, July 11, 2014. He was born to Earl and Clara (Hedtke) Dennison, on Feb. 12, 1937, in Bear Creek.
Tom graduated from Bear Creek High School. In 1956, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. Tom married Hilda Turnquist on Dec. 23, 1967, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Greenwood. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family and friends on Shawano Lake.
Tom is survived by his wife of 46 years, Hilda; sister, Mary (Larry) Colassacco; sisters-in-law, Cora (Larry) Solberg and Florence Dennison; brothers-in-law, Chet (Susan) Turnquist and Ed (Brenda) Turnquist; along with his nieces and nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James, Robert (Grace) and John; and mother- and father-in-law, Carl and Evelyn Turnquist.
The family would like to thank Lori, Frances and Nick for all their wonderful home care given to Tom.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church, 6118 County Road M, Elk Mound, with a visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Pastor Hal A. Schroeter will officiate. Interment will be in the Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, with military honors conducted by Eau Claire American Legion Post 53.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church or to the donor’s choice.
