Doris Anna Marie (Suring) Jansen, 94, Suring, was born to eternal life and reunited with her heavenly family on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the age of 94 years young.
Doris was a lifelong, active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Hayes, where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Ladies Aid, LWML, choir and many other church functions. She was also a member of the Friends of the Suring Area Public Library and, most importantly, enjoyed spending time at Shay Lake.
Doris worked for many years at the Suring Red Owl and retired from the Suring Milling Company.
Beloved wife of the late Lawrence Jansen, who preceded her in death in June of 1984. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Donald (Laraine) Jansen, of Venice, Florida, Michael (Sharon) Jansen, of Suring, Judithann (Phillip) Drexler, of Pickett, and Jane Piper, of Willards, Maryland; dedicated grandmother of David (Kimberly) Jansen, of Mesa, Arizona, Keith (Sarah) Jansen, of Arnold, Maryland, Michael (Nancy) Jansen, of Green Bay, Hollie (John) Wagner, of Neenah, and Briana Drexler, of Pickett. Proud great-grandmother of Margaret, Johnathon, Jacob, Brody, Avery and Raegan.
She is further survived by her sisters, Mavis Suring, Erna Czysz, Donna (Arlan) Tetzlaff, Iris (David) Erickson, Karen (Gerald) Wendt, and sister-in-law, Mae Adams. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Doris; her parents, Henry and Helena Suring; mother- and father-in-law, Paul and Edith Jansen; brother, Gordon Suring; sister and brother-in-law, LaVern and Owen Schoenebeck; and brothers-in-law, Rodean Suring and Raymond Czysz.
Visitation will be held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring on Wednesday, July 2, from 5-8 p.m. Visitation continues on Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church in Hayes from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Nick Buchholz officiating. Doris will be laid to rest in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
