NEW Credit Union seeks to help others during March by participating in the fifth annual Penny Nicholas Food Drive.
Leland (Penny) Nicholas was a firm believer in the credit union philosophy of people helping people, and this food drive was instituted as a tribute to him. Nicholas served on the board of directors of NEW Credit Union for 34 years. He volunteered thousands of hours for the credit union and helped with numerous events in the community.
Nonperishable food items can be dropped off Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at any one of the three Oconto County credit union locations: 301 Jackson St., Oconto Falls; 405 Pecor St., Oconto; and 717 E. Main St., Suring.
The nonperishable food gathered will be distributed among several local food pantries. Food should be dropped off by March 31. Visit www.newcu.org or call 800-924-1250 for information.
