A Bowler woman is facing felony drug charges for allegedly supplying her boyfriend with the pseudoephedrine he is accused of using to manufacture meth.
April M. LaChapelle, 23, could face a maximum 3½ years in prison and $10,000 fine if convicted on each of three counts of purchasing pseudoephedrine for another person with the intention of manufacturing methamphetamine.
LaChapelle’s boyfriend, according to the criminal complaint, was busted in an undercover sting last month and is charged with three felony counts of delivery of methamphetamine.
Stuart L. Long, 27, could face 12½ years in prison and a $25,000 fine on each count if convicted. He is being held on a $2,500 cash bond and is scheduled for a pre-trial conference Tuesday.
According to the criminal complaint filed against LaChapelle this week, she purchased Sudafed, which contains pseudoephedrine, on three occasions in the city of Shawano — once in April and twice in July. She allegedly delivered the Sudafed to Long knowing he intended to use it to make meth, according to the complaint.
LaChapelle told authorities she was aware of Long’s activities and said he manufactured and sold meth to support himself.
LaChapelle was freed Friday on a $1,000 signature bond and is due back in court Monday for an adjourned initial appearance.
Long was arrested Aug. 3 after a controlled drug buy with an undercover officer in the town of Bartelme on the Stockbridge-Munsee Reservation.
Stockbridge-Munsee police and Shawano County sheriff’s deputies had previously made two other drug buys from Long, according to the criminal complaint, both within the week before he was arrested.
