Bears' season ends with loss to Coleman

The Bonduel High School volleyball team was bounced from the WIAA Division 3 regional after a 3-1 loss to Coleman Thursday in Coleman. Bonduel, the No. 4 seed, lost to top-seeded Coleman in the first game 25-22, before going on to win a razor-close second game 27-25. Coleman finished off with two wins, 25-19, 25-13 to wrap up the night and the Bears’ season. “We played probably some of the best volleyball that we’ve played all year,” Bonduel coach Kim Bodoh said. “(We) had a few mental errors and sent over too many free balls, that’s for sure.” The coach says Coleman was aggressive and covered the court very well during the match. Alexa Reinke had 27 digs for Bonduel. Jennifer Dowden had six blocks. Courtney Schmidt had 13 assists and Tayler Weier led the team with 11 kills. The first-year coach says the young team made a lot of progress this season and came together as a team. “This year will definitely be a confidence builder,” Bodoh said. “I think they’re seeing how talented and athletic they really are. Now if they can get that mental toughness, next year I think we’re going to be a really tough team.”
