Bears crush Weyauwega-Fremont in softball

April 10 Bonduel 11, Weyauwega-Fremont 1 Bonduel defeated Weyauwega Fremont in 11-1 in five innings in the Central Wisconsin East Conference opener. Emery Thompson threw a complete game no hitter, walking four and striking out nine. Thompson also led the Bears at the plate going 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs. Jayla Reinke was also had three hits with an RBI, and Tatum Sporisky had two hits with a double and two RBIs to lead the Bears 13-hit attack. Niagara 13, Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy 11 After five game cancellations and one postponement, the Lena/STAA softball team finally made it onto the field at Niagara. However, a valiant effort of 11 runs still left the team short as they lost 13-11 in the Marinette & Oconto Conference game. De Pere 3, Pulaski 2 The Red Raiders fell to 0-2 in the Fox River Classic Conference and 2-2 overall with a 3-2 loss to De Pere. Manawa 7, Wittenberg-Birnamwood 3 The Chargers dipped to 2-3 with a 7-3 loss to Manawa. Wittenberg-Birnamwood also dropped to 0-1 in the Central Wisconsin East Conference. Freedom 13, Oconto Falls 3 The Panthers struggled to score enough, coming up with three runs in a 13-3 North Eastern Conference loss to Freedom. Iola-Scandinavia 14, Marion 3 The Mustangs couldn’t get any traction in a 14-3 non-conference loss to Iola-Scandinavia. Amherst 19, Menominee Nation 1 Amherst jumped all over Menominee Nation in a 19-1 Central Wisconsin East Conference win.
