Sarah Bartz, who retired Jan. 10 as manager of the human services income maintenance and child support division, was recognized for her 25 years of service at the Shawano County Board of Supervisor’s Feb. 26 meeting.
“She’s been with me since the beginning. We were both younger and had darker hair at the time,” said Richard Kane, human services department director. “Sarah’s done a great job. She’s been a great custodian of the public funds, saved the county a lot of money, streamlined the organization and combined divisions together. She’s just done a fabulous job.”
Bartz was first with Shawano County when the social services department moved from the Shawano County Courthouse to the Fellman Center location, and then to the Anderson Avenue location, and along the way combined with the community programs department to form the current human services department.
She served in several positions through the years.
“It’s been a long time, and I’ve enjoyed it,” she said. “I’ve enjoyed my job. I’ve enjoyed all the changes. I’ve enjoyed all the people I’ve met. I’m happy to retire, but it is something that I’m going to miss.”
