ATV trail needs some rest stops

To the editor: As they say, it only takes one bad apple to spoil it for everyone else. I am contacting you regarding the ATV trail that starts in Krakow and goes up to and beyond Townsend. I now know why folks are reluctant to allow these trails to be open. From some of the riders, there is no respect for property owners along the trail. I was working in my yard around 6 p.m. June 18 when all of a sudden I heard an ATV pull into my yard. I looked up to see two young men getting off a single ATV. I saw them reaching for their zippers. At the same time, they were looking to see if anyone was around. I yelled too soon. I should have waited a little longer, and maybe they would have wounded themselves. I know the businesses located on the trail, a lot of them being bar owners and/or gas stations, promote and offer specials to the riders. With that being said, maybe they should let riders under 21 years of age use their bathroom facilities, even if they are not a customer. I’m thinking that it might be time for a few rest stop areas, “port-a-potties,” to be put out so they can relieve themselves properly. Not all riders have the common sense to respect others and may need some assistance in this matter. Crystal Cortese, Green Valley
