Altibel Adeline Anna “Bonnie” Stern Reinke, 94, of Shawano, formerly of Bonduel, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at a local nursing home.
Born on Oct. 25, 1918, in Oconto County, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Seraphine (Ratz) Eggert. In 1936 she was united in marriage to Charles Stern. Altibel enjoyed being a housewife and took pride in raising her children. After Charley’s death in 1958, Altibel went to work at the Prange Department Store in Appleton doing custom drapery. She continued her own drapery business after her retirement in 1985. In March 1985 she married Frederick Reinke. He also preceded her in death in 1997. Altibel volunteered as a 4-H leader for many years while her children were growing up. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in the town of Washington where she was active in the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Homemakers Club. Altibel held a special place in her heart for her little dogs, the most recent being Princess.
Altibel is survived by her two daughters, Althea (Marvin) Klosterman, of Bonduel, and Janice (Andrei) Tymoszenko, of Troy, Ohio; a son-in-law, Clifford Galleske, of Little Chute; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Swanson, of Bonduel; nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Violett Busch, of Shawano, Audrey Busch, of Bonduel, and Magdeline Heuer, of Fond du Lac; a brother, Kenneth (Mavis) Eggert, of Cecil; and a sister-in-law, Dorothea Stern, of Bonduel.
Altibel was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Stern; her second husband, Frederick Reinke; a daughter, Carol Galleske; a son, Charles Stern; her parents; a sister, Arthea Bonnin; a brother, Donald Eggert; five brothers-in-law, Leonard Bonnin, Martin Busch, Luther Busch, Ronald Heuer, Adolph Stern; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Eggert.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, W4496 County Road E, Bonduel, in the town of Washington with the Rev. Steven Pockat officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
