Fred Leisner, 100, of Westcott Lake Road, Pound, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at home in the loving care of his daughters and family.
The son of the late John and Agnes Leisner was born on Nov. 10, 1912, in Marinette.
He was married to Esther Kostreva on Sept. 8, 1934.
Fred dairy farmed at Westcott Lake, in the town of Bagley, until his retirement in the ’60s.
He then turned his attention to his orchards and his vegetable gardens.
During his 70s and 80s, Fred was known throughout the area for the wonderful fruits and vegetables he sold and the huge pumpkins he would display in town in the fall.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Esther; daughter, Virginia Schneider; and his son, Kenneth Leisner.
Surviving him are three children, Norma (Paul) Kostreva, of Pound, Barbara (Frank) Behrens, of Carrollton, Texas, and Rachel (Greg) Kresse, of Wausau; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a half sister, Angeline (Earl) Brickner, of Green Bay; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman, from 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, until A Reflection Time Ceremony begins at 12 p.m. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, in the Town of Brazeau Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank Unity Hospice for their care over the last few years. Donations may be sent to them in lieu of flowers.
