The Oconto Falls FFA members celebrated their accomplishments at their annual banquet on April 27.
All first-year FFA members received the Greenhand Degree: Emily Birr, Alex Borkovec, Isaac Carlton, Hunter Christiansen, Garrett Cole, Kyanah Cornelius, Landon Cunningham, Justin Dequaine, Travis Dequaine, Kalie Elkins, Ashley Hebel, Ashley Keuken, Tyler Klimpke, Taylor Koehne, Jenny Krueger, Rachel Lambert, Megan Loberger, Jen Longsine, Haley Meunier, Courtney Meunier, Rosalinda Mora, Kaylin Nickels, Laken Patenaude, Gabby Pearce, Sonja Sanford, Trever Schefdore, Adrianna Siech and Lucas Stueber.
Emily Birr received a Star Greenhand award, given to the most significant first-year member.
The Chapter FFA Degree was awarded to Ashley Baeten, Taylor Barke, Danielle Bursa, Alexys Christensen, Emily Coopman, Abby Fournier, Regina Garbrecht, Seth Haines, Denisha Hurning, Karley Krueger, Amber Lubenske, Liz Manns, Catie Methfessel, Ahlana Saray, Leticia Schultz, Ashley Tingley, Holly Umentum, Courtney VanHaren and Brittany Wirtz.
Hallie Kopczynski received the Chapter Star in Agriculture Placement Award as the most outstanding and hardworking member of the FFA working in an agriculture field.
The following teams and individuals competed in speaking contests: McKenzie Staidl, Destiney Barron and Isabelle Behnke, middle school quiz bowl; Danielle Bursa and Emily Birr, prepared speaking; Haley Muenier, creed speaking; Veronica Hakes, job interview; Mercedes Ondik, discussion meet; and Ahlana Saray, Karley Krueger, Mercedes Ondik, Stephanie Wirtz and Brittany Wirtz, parliamentary procedure.
The Washington Leadership Conference Scholarship was awarded to Connor Iverson.
The FFA Alumni Scholarship recipients were Mercedes Ondik, Emily Winkler and Hallie Kopczynski.
Hallie Kopczynski also received the Claude Klimpke Scholarship, JoAnn Marquardt Scholarship and AgEdnet.com scholarship.
Mercedes Ondik received the National FFA Scholarship.
The 2014-2015 FFA officers at Washington Middle School are MacKenzie Staidl, president, Hunter Christensen and Alec Coco-Ludeman, vice presidents, Destiny Barren, secretary, and Isabel Behnke, reporter/treasurer. The 2014-2015 high school officers are Veronica Hakes, president, Ally Magnin and Emily Birr, vice presidents, Brittany Wirtz, reporter, Karley Krueger, secretary, Jenna Langlay, treasurer, Jen Longsine, sentinel, and Cortney Meunier, historian.
