Facility proposed for dementia care

Tycore Built plans to break ground this summer for a 16-unit complex for individuals in need of dementia care. The Green Bay company plans to build the facility adjacent to The Cottages at MeadowLands, an assisted living facility at 751 E. Highland Drive in Oconto Falls. The Oconto Falls City Council on June 10 unanimously approved a conditional use permit for the facility submitted by Jayson Micoley. The community-based residential facility will be built west of the parking lot of The Cottages at MeadowLands. City Fire Chief Tim Magnin said fire protection would be improved if the parking lot had a second entrance. The Cottages at MeadowLands has a single entrance. City Administrator Vicki Roberts said plans for the facility will require state approval, and a second entrance might be required. Shawano-based Cottages Investment Group, LLC, purchased The MeadowLands in May. The investment group also owns and operates The Cottages on Golden Pond Assisted Living and Memory Care in Shawano.
