Delores M. Szutkowski

Delores M. “Lorrie” Szutkowski, 77, of Shawano, found peace Thursday afternoon, Oct. 10, 2013, at ManorCare of Shawano. Delores was born June 21, 1936, in Eland, a daughter of the late Philip and Doris (Leach) Guolee. She grew up in Eland and attended the Wittenberg-Birnamwood schools, graduating in 1951. Following school, Delores moved to Milwaukee, where she worked as a nurse’s aide at St Anthony’s Hospital. On June 29, 1968, she was united in marriage to Jerome Szutkowski at St. William Catholic Church in Eland. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Eland until 1993, when they moved to Shawano. Delores was a stay-at-home mother and homemaker after her marriage. Delores is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. She loved Packers football and Brewers baseball. She was an avid reader and enjoyed travelling. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Jerome Szutkowski, of Shawano; one daughter, Colleen (Tom) Wilson, of Windsor; one granddaughter, Jordan “Jordy” Wilson, and a grandson, Logan Wilson, both of Windsor; two sisters, Pat (Bob) Rood, of Eland, and Sharon Swosinski, of Milwaukee; one brother, Gilbert (Wand) Guolee, of King Veterans Home, King; two sisters-in-law, Betty Guolee, of Little Chute, and Gladys Guolee, of Milwaukee; and a brother in-law, James Szutkowski, of Shawano. She is further survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass for Delores Szutkowski will be celebrated on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Shawano. The Rev. Luke Ferris will be the celebrant. Entombment will be at the Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of mass. In lieu of flowers and plants, the family has requested memorials to the American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, in the name of Delores Szutkowski.
