Gillett 68, Coleman 58
Jesse DeBauch scored 48 points, and Gillett slowly pulled away in the second half to defeat Coleman 68-58.
DeBauch was the only Tiger to score in double digits.
He also led his teammates with 21 rebounds. Jed Herzog had another 10. DeBauch led Gillett with three assists and three steals.
Gillett held a slim 29-27 lead at halftime and pulled away with a 39-31 second half performance.
Lena 66, Wausaukee 63
Mason Spice scored 25 points, and Tyler Shallow scored 15 as Lena topped Wausaukee 66-63. The two also combined for 11-of-20 free throws and three 3-pointers.
Shallow led with nine rebounds. Spice had four assists, while Shallow and Caleb Schlosser had six steals each.
Lena led 32-26 at halftime and held on for the win despite Wausaukee winning the second half 37-34.
Manawa 71, Marion 29
Breckyn DeWhurst scored 11 points in Marion’s 71-29 loss to Manawa.
Other leaders for the Mustangs were Elijah Schema with six rebounds, Nolan Wisnefski with five assists and Sawyer Kamba with four steals.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood 96, Lakeland Union 63
The Wittenberg-Birnamwood boys basketball team came out firing and never looked back as they tipped the Lakeland Thunderbirds 96-63 in non-conference action.
Jett Rogowski paced a balanced Charger output with 33 points, and Zandyr Barke and Jaden Clark poured in 20 and 13, respectively.
The Chargers pressed a good portion of the game, causing and converting on many forced turnovers.
“We got great output from the entire squad tonight,” coach Garrett Rogowski said. “Our energy and movement on both defense and offense was great.”
