David W. Collins, 84, of Suring, passed away Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, with family by his side.
Dave was born Feb. 7, 1942, in Sparta, to the late Gilbert and Ruth (Schreiner) Collins. Dave married Charlette Nelson on June 28, 1969.
He taught secondary education at Suring Public School District from 1964 until retirement in 1999. He was commissioner of the Marinette-Oconto County Schools from 1978 to 2015.
Dave is survived by his wife, Charlette; three children, Jason (Sarah) Collins, of Lockport, Illinois, Justin (Kelly) Collins, of Suamico, and Stephanie (Matt) Balzola, of De Pere; grandchildren, Meredith, Kurt, A.J., Daniel, Vincent, Madelyn, and Abigail, Ryan, Sara, Linnea, Stella, and Christopher; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Collins.
Dave was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Peter Collins.
Dave’s wishes were to have no formal services.
