Bonduel 3, Marinette 1
Both teams were strong on the hill on May 11, but the Bonduel Broncos defeated Marinette Redbirds 3-1 in Dairyland League Baseball action.
Chase Reinke started the game for Bonduel Broncos and recorded 27 outs.
Reinke struck out 10 batters on the day. The lefty also surrendered four hits and one run over nine innings while walking one.
The Broncos were the first to get on the board in the fifth when an error scored one run.
Eric Gruenewald hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the ninth. Cade Johnson and Jack Reinke each collected two hits.
Adam Frost, Gruenewald, and Wyatt Reinke each drove in one run.
Pulaski 5, Cecil 4
The Reds come from behind to grab the victory in Cecil, winning 5-4.
Down 4-3 heading into the seventh, the Reds scored two runs to take the 5-4 lead. Four back-to-back singles by Jarrett Olson, Matt Walgurski, Jason Infusino and Brandon Black got the job done.
Relief pitcher Lane Whiting came on in the seventh and slammed the door, striking out eight of the final nine batters.
Hofa Park 4, Shawano 1
Thew Hofa Park Panthers beat Shawano Lobos 4-1.
A single by Trevor Cornell on the sixth pitch of the at-bat put Panthers on the board in the top of the first.
Chase Henning singled down the left field line, which helped Shawano Lobos tie the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first.
A sacrifice fly by Robbie Schuettpelz gave the Panthers the lead, 2-1, in the top of the fifth.
Schuettpelz earned the win for Panthers. The starting pitcher gave up seven hits and one run (none earned) over nine innings, striking out three and walking none.
Ashton Henning took the loss for Lobos. The starting pitcher went five innings, surrendering two runs (one earned) on three hits, striking out five and walking three.
Aiden Linsmeyer led the Panthers with two RBIs. The third baseman went 2-for-4 on the day.
Henning went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with one RBI. Henning, Kasey Kristof, Carson Popp, Andrew Popp, Henning, Carson Herm, and Brad Bartz each collected one hit for Shawano.
Nichols 12, Hortonville 6
Jace Midbon collected three hits in four at-bats, but the Nichols Nitros lost to Hortonville Stars 12-6. Midbon doubled in the third inning, singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the fifth inning.
Hortonville jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Kyle Stuewer doubled, scoring two runs, Ty Dreier grounded out, scoring one run, Logan Locy drew a walk, scoring one run, and an error scored another.
A groundout by Dan Wunderlich extended the Hortonville Stars lead to 6-0 in the top of the second inning.
The Nitros tied the game in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a single by Midbon and a groundout by Lucas Leisgang.
A single by Cage Kavanagh gave Hortonville the lead, 7-6, in the top of the seventh.
Hortonville scored one run in the top of the eighth on a solo home run to center field by Connor Roesler.
Chris Atwood earned the win for the Stars. The hurler allowed eight hits and six runs (four earned) over 5 2/3innings, striking out six and walking one.
Justin Krull pitched 4 1/3 innings in relief for Nichols. The righty surrendered five hits and one run (none earned) while, striking out one and walking four.
Leisgang took the loss for Nichols. The starting pitcher went 2 1/3 innings, surrendering six runs (five earned) on one hit, striking out one and walking four.
